Actions to date:
• Replaced all plastic straws with 100% biodegradable and paper straws. Only give straws if a customer asks, and this has also reduced usage by at least 50%
• Use only compostable takeaway containers including coffee cups and lids
• Biodegradable cutlery for takeaways
•Use only dis-solvable paper food labels
• Changed all bottled water for sale to glass instead of plastic, and are pursuing the same route with all plastic bottles i.e. Kids drinks.
• Recycle all glass, plastic, tins, cardboard, and ink cartridges.
• Also recycle all our food waste which is currently turned into energy and fertiliser for Langage Farm dairy product production. This is also under review to look into this energy going into our local grid.
