Plastic Free North Devon's first 'Impact Maker' partnership...

Plastic Free North Devon are delighted to announce holidaycottages.co.uk as our first official ‘Impact Maker’ partners under our new business supporters structure for 2021-2022.

Holidaycottages.co.uk started its journey in North Devon back in 1989, when it began letting a handful of rural properties across Devon & Cornwall, and has since grown to become one of the UK's leading self-catering holiday providers, letting over 7,000 properties all across the UK. We have built our relationship over the last year at beach cleans, through our discussions about our projects, and a shared love for the local area. 

Their support as a Plastic Free North Devon ‘Impact Maker’ will make them our official named supporter on our flagship Protect Our Playground - Ocean Explorers education outreach project 2021/2022. This innovative and exciting project connects people with the nature on our doorstep through 360 virtual reality films made here in North Devon. Its aim is to ‘wow’ people with the wonders of the natural world to encourage continued learning , improve ocean literacy and educate about the environmental impacts these ecosystems are facing, and give advice on what they can do to look after them. We will be at events, community centres, and outdoor locations across the summer months with this project engaging locals and visitors alike.

Holidaycottages.co.uk’s sustainability journey is one that we have been following and we are really pleased to be partnering with a business who has shared values and a commitment to long term sustainability as a business. This partnership gives us the opportunity to work in a  reciprocal way;  us assisting in their internal sustainable tourism project and them offering their staff as volunteers on our community cleans or educational outreach projects.
